Steve Dash (born Steve Daskawisz) is best known for his role as Jason Vorhees in the film Friday the 13th Part 2. Steve has achieved success as an actor in films such as Emerging Past, Mr.Hush, Wolfen, and Alone in the Dark. In addition to his acting Steve is a respected stuntman and stunt co-ordinator with many movies to his credit including F/X, Nine ½ Weeks, Turk 182!, and recently Trust Me in which he was also an actor and producer.

According to Dash when he auditioned for the role of Jason he envisioned a vastly different set of circumstances. "A casting director from Connecticut called and said the guy we hired to be the lead in this show we got called Jason just didn't work out, can you get here?" "I was ecstatic. A lead role in a film! So I get to meet the director and he says" He looks pretty good, get over to wardrobe and see if it fits. So we get over to wardrobe and the casting director says "Get the bag, I say What bag? The director says oh I forgot to tell you your going to have a bag over your head. Nobody's going to see you until the end when we take the bag off and you have this hideous face! So I ask if I can have a script, and they say "You don't really need a script. There's a lot of grunts and groans and your chasing people and killing them." So I think this is unbelievable I have the lead role in a film and I don't get any lines and nobody's going to see my face! I went from lead role to no role but I said oh "What the hell!"
